I've just returned from taking part in this year's Breadloaf Writers Conference in Ripton, Vermont as a Theodore Morrison Fellow. It was an intense twelve-day conference, where I met new friends and reunited with old ones. I am trying to make sense of it all, my clock is still three hours behind, my imagination full of new possibilities regarding the written word and the word of the imagination. I am very honored to have been given such a fellowship, very honored to have spent time with all the writers involved, including students and staff. It was great to see Arthur Sze, Ilya Kaminsky and Major Jackson again. It was also good to meet Brigit Pegeen Kelly, Matt Hart, Camille Dungy, G.C. Waldrop, Benjamin Percy, Laura McCullough, Ravi Howard, Michael Collier, Natasha Tretheway, Ed Pavlich, and many others, all of whom I have great respect and admiration for. I hope that our paths continue to cross in this world of letters.
